Good morning and Happy Thursday! This second week of our new routine(s) has flown by!
Yesterday started with a quick run plus lower body burn,
and then me telling the girls to get dressed, brush their teeth, and put their shoes on approximately 134 times. Why, oh why, does this take so long? I am going to try a new motivation for this - as soon as they are "ready" for school, I will sit down and read to them until it is time to leave. I just ordered The Land of Stories first book and read the prologue to them yesterday before small group and they appear to be interested.
This plan, of course, requires me to be "ready" to sit down and read as well. I guess I won't have time to do the dishes in the morning. Darn.
After the girls left, I was glued to my chair for the next 8.5 hours (playing with data, one of my favorite things!), except for the 20 minutes I went outside for an afternoon walk. I should not be surprised by the mood improvement and energy boost that followed, but I was. Let's add "afternoon walk" to my habit tracker.
After work I put dinner that I had peeled/chopped/assembled the night before in the oven - sheet pan chicken thighs, sweet potatoes, and brussels sprouts (I loved it, but the rest of the family wasn't too impressed), and we were finishing up eating when small group started to arrive. We spent the next few hours in fellowship with some people I absolutely adore.
The girls were in bed before 9, which I count as a Wednesday win. Cora starts dance today, along with Ina, so tonight should be full and fun. Have a good one!
