Wait, is it morning? I honestly have no idea, because I am getting even less sleep than usual, as Miss Cora sprouted her first tooth over the weekend. With the new tooth has come a boycott of sleep, both naps and at night. I have tried everything from ibuprofen to letting her nurse on demand in my bed and nothing seems to work. (Although, she is sleeping right now. Hmph.)
Despite all of this, she remains in a decent mood. She is a little fussy, but most of the time all I have to do is make a silly face at her and my happy baby returns.
I know this is just a season, but man, I am ready for it to end, for her sake and for mine!
Other things about 6 months:
Like I said above, she is generally a very happy baby and rarely cries. She LOVES to laugh and honestly just waits for me to do something so she can let out a giggle or two.
She especially loves to laugh at her big sister, who can do no wrong in Cora’s eyes. Ina will squeeze her very tightly, poke her eyeball, or splash water in her face and when I expect her to start crying her face just lights up. I will say there have been a few moments when Ina crossed the line, like when she rolled both of them off the couch, but that doesn’t happen too often.
Cora can roll over both front to back and back to front, but she very rarely does so. I think she is just happy to stay where she is.
Cora loves her veggies and will gobble down squash, sweet potatoes, peas, avocados, and carrots. However, she is not a fan of brown rice and has spit it out at me so many times I stopped trying to give it to her. I also started giving her a few Cheerios and she is slowly getting the hang of having something solid in her mouth.
Cora likes to talk and “sing” and seriously does the best Chewbacca impersonation. I always tell Dan that I birthed a wookie.
She is long and lean - measuring at almost 28 inches long and just under 16 pounds. She is in the 97th percentile for length! Her eyes haven’t quite decided what color they are going to be. Right now they are green/grey. On the other hand, I think her hair has decided it is going to stay red. (Yay!)
I seriously cannot believe she is already 6 months old. My little sleepy baby is gone and has been replaced with a (little) big girl.
Have a lovely week! <3
