Happy third birthday to my bold, beautiful, puzzle-loving Ina Mae.
I sang Happy Birthday to her yesterday morning and she asked, “for my next birthday can I be 3?"
I told her she was now officially 3, and the reality of it sank in and she couldn’t contain her excitement. Having her party 2.5 weeks before her actual birthday has really confused her. She also asked for two more dinosaur cakes. I may have created a monster.
Then I told her the (kid friendly) story of how she was born and of course cried like a baby.
I wanted to do something to celebrate as a family, so we all bundled up and drove to the plaza to ride on a carriage and looks at the lights.
It was too bad that the only carriages available were the upgraded Cindarella version. Darn.
After saying good-bye to the horse (whose name was Dan!), we ate dinner at Chuy’s. (The salsa!!!)
I know Ina felt celebrated on her birthday, but it was also a time for Dan and I to celebrate the moment when our lives forever changed. At dinner we cheers’ed to three years of family, tears, laughs, and keeping Ina alive and well cared for.
On her birthday, I wanted to share the picture book I made her over the past year.

And, if you have time to kill or want to go down memory lane - here is her second year picture book and her first year picture book.
Have a good day!
