Hello and Happy Sunday!
I am happy to report that everyone here is well and happy! We are experiencing a glorious January heat wave here in Kansas City which is food to my sunshine loving soul.
Ina likes it too.
I wish I had more energy to play with her outside longer, but baking a baby takes a lot out of me, so instead we baked sweet potato brownies.
While I was working yesterday morning, Ina and Dan went on an “adventure,” otherwise known as a walk around Longview Lake. They came back smelling like outside and ready for a nap.
Then last night we dropped Ina off at my sister’s house to play with her cousins while we enjoyed a suite at the hockey game with our friends Nick and Michele.
Today is church and then trying to unplug a clog in our sink. We have already tried the plunger and sulfuric acid. I think a phone call to the plumber might be in our future.
Here is what I am up to this week (assuming we having a working sink):
Food:
- Sunday: Small Group - someone else is making dinner. Bless her sweet, sweet soul.
- Monday: Dan’s turkey burgers (I can’t stop thinking about them) with roasted green beans and sweet potatoes
- Tuesday: Asian glazed chicken with roasted broccoli and brown rice
- Wednesday: sour cream noodle bake with brussels sprouts
- Thursday: sausage, cabbage, and potato skillet
- Friday: build your own pizza night with salad
- Saturday: out to eat
Also, a few snack and breakfast preps: hummus, hard boiled eggs, and carrot cake breakfast cookies
Fitness:
- Sunday: 3ish mile walk/run (have to take advantage of this beautiful weather!)
- Monday: rest
- Tuesday: prenatal pilates
- Wednesday: 1000 m swim
- Thursday: rest
- Friday: 1000 swim
- Saturday: rest
What are you up to this week? Linking up with Mommy, Run Fast!
Glad you got to enjoy a little heat wave! Still very cold here. We're the snowiest city in the U.S. right now. What a title!
ReplyDeleteHaha, not a title you want, huh? Well, at least you have something to brag about? :) Hoping for a heat wave soon!
DeleteOh what a lovely weekend. I cant wait for date night, but I think it will be some time before I am ok leaving the newborn with anyone besides family, and unfortunately family wont be visiting for at least 2 months...
ReplyDeleteSweet potato brownies sound interesting!
Oh yes, I remember those days. We ended up taking the newborn on a few dates. She slept through most of them. That won't be so easy this time around.
DeleteYes, they were "interesting." Dan didn't even try them, but Ina and I like them. :)
Oh a heat wave would be fantastic right now! I am so sick of the 20's and 30's...yuck! Your little girl is adorable!
ReplyDeleteThanks Janelle! Sending warm thoughts your way! :)
DeleteMy plan this week is to not fall asleep at my desk. I am now 22 weeks pregnant and am so tired :)
ReplyDeleteBahaha, I think that is an excellent plan. When I was pregnant with Ina, I had to lay down underneath my desk a few days because I couldn't take it anymore. Good luck!
DeleteLooks like a great meal plan- I love the make your own pizza night idea! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty fun and about the only thing I have energy for on Friday night. Ha!
DeleteDo you have a recipe for the Sweet potato brownies?
ReplyDeleteHi Emily! Yes, it is here: http://paleomg.com/sweet-potato-brownies/
DeleteHi Racheal. Nice to meet you! I co-host the link up with Laura. We enjoyed a day of sunshine and unseasonably warm temps on Sat. It was amazing and felt so good.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up and sharing your menu!
I think this weekend was exactly what we needed to get us through another month or so of cold weather. Ha!
DeleteCurious if you've tried anything other than Feta cheese? My husband and I are fans of it but these turkey burgers sound great.
ReplyDeleteHi Charllsie! I think we made them once with cheddar cheese, which melted a bit more and made more of a crust? on the outside of the burger. I also can't remember if we put spinach in that time or not. Maybe try mozzarella?
DeleteI will say that Dan is usually not a fan of feta cheese, but loves these burgers. :) Good luck!
