Thankful Thursday [and Not-So-Thankful]

I am thankful that Ina wanted something nutritious like beans for breakfast yesterday.

Plain, cold, red kidney beans straight from a can.  She loves them.  However, Ina’s love for beans does have its downside, ifyouknowwhatImean, which I am not-so-thankful for.

I am thankful that my office has a mustard dispenser in the cafeteria, because chili without mustard is just sad, even if it is pumpkin chili

I was not so thankful for the juiciness of that orange.   Seriously, I had to take soap and water to my desk afterwards.  Or wait, I should have taken soap and water to my desk afterwards.  Dang it, now my desk is sticky.

I am thankful that I squeezed in a temp run (increasing the pace every minute and ending in a sprint) and an arm burner yesterday.

I am not-so-thankful for that I increased the weight from 10 to 12.5 pounds, which made my 2nd round of bicep curls near-impossible.  Ouch.

I am thankful my in-laws stayed the night last night to watch Ina today AND they made us dinner.

I am not-so-thankful that Dan said he was happy to be able to eat some “American food,” whatever that means.  I told him if he wanted American food he should have married an American girl.  Which probably confused him, because technically I am an American, I just prefer other cuisines.

I am thankful that Dan picked me some wildflowers yesterday.  Such a simple act can make a girl feel pretty special.

I am not-so-thankful for Ina’s interest in the flowers.  She kept on climbing the table and and saying, “Drink.  Bite.   Drink.”  Weird?

Mostly, I am thankful that the things I am not-so-thankful for are very minor, like a gassy/curious child, a drippy orange, weak arms, and a husband that prefers meatloaf over curry.

What are you thankful for?

  1. Mustard with chili?! That's a new one for me! But I grew up with spaghetti noodles in my chili and didn't realize that the real thing didn't have it until I went off to college. I love chili sans noodles now, even sans beans since my husband is allergic to those, too. ;-)

You can turn all of those not-so-thankful things into thankful things, too! Like knowing not to bring an orange to work because of the annoying mess it caused or planning your meals to put an "American" one in there once a week - or have him pick a meal once a week or something. I don't know what to tell you about the beans, though! ;-)
