Family Pictures + Friday Favorites

Good morning and Happy Friday!

Ina and I are spending the morning packing and then we are leaving on my Terrain (<—see what I did there?) headed to Branson, MO for a little getaway with our small group.  Dan is meeting us there a few hours later.

If you need me in the next few days, look near the pool.

Bring a snack.

Here are a few of my favorites from the last few weeks:

- Our family pictures

I really don’t know how Danielle did it,

but she managed to capture a few shots where you can’t tell that Ina is throwing the temper tantrum of the year.

In fact she actually looks happy!

Oh wait, there we go.

It is hard to be an Ina Mae.

-homemade Greek seasoning blend.  Our favorite Greek spice blend regretfully has MSG in it, so when I made Dan’s turkey burgers last week, I whipped up a double batch of that recipe.  Dare I say, they tasted even better!  And now I am sad they are all gone.

- Sun’s Out, Guns Out arm workout.  Add that baby to treadmill sprints and your body will be adequately fatigued.

- Give me gratitude, or give me debt.  If you haven’t read this yet, please do it immediately.  My favorite part:

Sometimes it seems that our entire economy is based on distracting women from their blessings. Producers of STUFF NEED to find 10,000 ways to make women feel less than about our clothes, kitchens, selves so that we will keep buying more. So maybe freeing ourselves just a little from the Tyranny of Trend is a women’s issue – because we certainly aren’t going to get much world changing done if we spend all of our time and money on wardrobe and kitchen changing.

- Ina in my shoes.

I know this is a very typical little girl picture, but it was such a special moment for me.  When she saw my shoes on the floor, I could literally see the thought appear in her head as she got a sly smile on her face, slowly took off her flip flops, and proclaimed, “I wear Mommy’s shoes.”

I sat on the floor and watched her play with them for 20 minutes.  The dishes sat in the sink.

I hope you have a wonderfully blessed weekend!

  1. I have to say one of my favorite things about you is that you are a Godly woman. I think my second favorite is that you are honest and aren't afraid to say you left the dishes in the sink to watch your daughter. You give me so much to look forward to when I have kids and you don't sugar coat it.

    1. What a nice and sweet thing to say! Thanks Charlsie! <3 Yes, there are so many things to look forward to about having kids! Have a good week!
