Today I am thankful for breakfasts with Ina.
Usually there is only time to throw an apple and a cheese stick in her bowl and run out the door, but yesterday we sat down and ate. Well I ate. She looked at me like I was a crazy person after she turned her nose up to yogurt, which used to be one of her favorites.
I am thankful that I finally sent out my passport application.
This task has been on my to-do list for a long time now, but I am always missing one of the many elements. For the past two days, I have been lacking an envelope. Yesh. It felt so good to throw that in the mailbox.
I am thankful that I had the time and energy to run yesterday while dinner was in the oven and Ina was taking a bath.
My run was hot and slow, but it is over. Whew.
I am thankful for local meat and dinner with Dan’s parents and grandma.
So much happens at the dinner table.
I am thankful that Ina doesn’t know what comes after 19.
I am thankful that after Ina went to bed with her grandparents, Dan and I stayed up to watch the Royals score 6 runs in one inning and we cheered and clapped as loud as we wanted to.
I am so very thankful for this life that God has given me. I better do something useful with it, huh?
What are you thankful for?
