Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for rainy days.

I am thankful for my aunt who gave Ina this too-cute rainy day get-up.

I am thankful for baby laughs and baby kisses.  One of Ina’s favorite things to do is go back and forth between Dan and I, giving us each kisses, and then giggling on her path to the other person.  As soon as she finishes kissing Dan, I yell, “OK, now Mommy kiss!” which she thinks is absolutely hilarious.  I keep meaning to catch it on tape, but I don’t want to stop the game once it starts.

I am thankful for two rest days in a row - yesterday I had a monster headache after work, and once it went away all I wanted to do was make dinner and go to bed.

Speaking of dinner, last night I made sukuma wiki and I am thankful Dan didn’t order pizza. We have an understanding that if my menu choices get a little too weird, or if the meal is not edible, he is free to order pizza with no questions asked or feelings hurt.

Last night, as I was adding the cinnamon to the ground beef and ripping up collard greens, I laughed to myself and thought that I would definitely see the pizza delivery guy tonight.

Thankfully, the meal was actually really good and the whole family ate it right up.

I am thankful for the women in my small group, for my business at work, for mom for watching Ina tomorrow, for my dad for giving us tickets to tomorrow’s game, for Dan for going to work everyday, for the dogs staying in the yard all week, for my car that reliably gets to me work everyday, for my phone that has lasted an entire year without breaking or being lost, for a hot shower - the only thing that helped my headache last night, for the green grass poking through the brown grass, and for coffee.

The end.

What are you thankful for?

  1. How adorable she looks in her rain gear! I'm with ya on the menu-planning. I like your agreement with Dan. May have to use that one. And may have to try that dish.

I am most grateful today that although I'm really, really, really slow; that I get winded quickly; and that 3 minutes is really difficult, that I can run again. I know that I'll slowly get back to where I used to be.
