Outdoor Bike + Grilling

I have decided that I have a highly selective memory.  I completely forgot how hard riding a bike is.

Yesterday I biked for 10 windy miles, and about a mile in I had to stop myself from throwing my bike in the ditch and running the darn thing.

My miserable workout was mostly my fault, because I did zero maintenance on my bike after it sat in the garage all fall and winter, other than making sure my tires weren’t flat.  Apparently my seat could have used some TLC because it wobbled back and forth between me falling over forward or sliding off the back.

Either way, between the T25 workout on Saturday and the bike ride on Sunday, my legs are in a world of hurt and I still have 16 miles to bike today to complete my IronMan March challenge.  It amazes me how people do this distance in one day, so I know I can do it in one month!

A few other pictures from yesterday:

The whole family wore Sperry’s to church.  Yes, we are that cool.

We grilled dinner outside.

I have to mention that grilling dinner outside versus cooking dinner inside is much better as far as entertaining Ina goes.  Usually, while I am cooking dinner inside, I am also trying to keep her out of the pantry, fridge, and cabinets, or from going up the stairs.  She is usually cranky because I am paying attention to something else other than her.  However, when we grilled dinner outside, she walked around with a twig in her hand and the biggest smile on her face and was completely satisfied.

She also really enjoyed eating the meal outside and ate twice as much as she usually does.  So, we will likely be outside every night when the temp is between 70 and 90 for the rest of the year.
