I tried really hard to get out of vacation mode yesterday.
By 10 am, my stomach was like, “that spinach and eggs on a brown rice tortilla was fine, but where are the steak and eggs we had all weekend?”
I quieted it with a kale salad the size of my head. So crunchy and delicious.
I decided I was going to try not to eat any added sugar for a few days, do a little detox. That lasted until someone offered me Cadbury chocolate at work. As the only chocolate I buy is from Aldi, I thought I really couldn’t miss out on that opportunity.
I wanted to run, until I realized that I am right on track with my IronMan March goals with running (already past the 26.2 miles for the month) and swimming (one swim away from being at goal), but I am seriously lacking in the biking department. I discovered that I still had 74 miles to go, so I put 11 in over lunch.
I really have no idea how the indoor bike compares to the outdoor bike, but that is my only option right now, as there is snow on the ground.
Speaking of snow -
Ina was a fan of yesterday’s precipitation. That “no” was awfully tasty.
Roasted chickpeas for a snack. [Drain and rinse one can of chickpeas and mix with 2 T of EVOO, 1 t of chile powder and 1/4 t cayenne pepper. Salt to taste. Roast at 400 for ~40 minutes.]
Salmon, burned brussels sprouts, and very lemony rice for dinner.
Ina ate 10 bites of her dinner great, and then decided it would be more fun to spit it out than swallow it and even more fun to throw it on the ground. I look forward to sitting down with Dan and Ina at the dinner table all day long, so it stinks when we have to use the time to discipline Ina.
No matter what we do, she still throws her food on the ground, even if it is something she really likes. I am hoping it is a phase. Aumlette and Lilly are hoping it lasts forever.
Have a great day!
