Happy first birthday my beautiful Ina!
One year ago we went to the hospital because I couldn't feel you move and hours later you were out, and not a minute too soon!
It is so hard to believe that in one year you have gone from this
to this.
I have enjoyed every minute of this year (even the sleepless ones). Thanks for teaching me so much and bringing joy to my life with your smiles, kisses, and laughs. You are one of a kind baby girl, and I look forward to getting to know you as a "big girl."
A few pictures of Ina's first birthday party.
The theme was The Very Hungry Caterpillar. If you don't know the story, you can watch it being read on YouTube! I did my best to "show" the story on the wall.
My favorite thing to make was the Ina Caterpillar:
A few other decorations:
I tried to follow the food the caterpillar eats in the book, so we had pickles, fruit salsa, watermelon, sausage, cheese, and crackers, cherry pie, lollipops, etc.
However, I don't think many people paid attention to the food.
How could you when there is a girl this cute running around?
We ended up moving the party outside, which was awesome because my house is not big enough to hold 50+ people.
Ina liked opening the presents, but she mostly just played with the first few she opened, so I opened the rest. She was absolutely spoiled! We are beyond blessed to have so many generous people in our lives.
Of course my favorite part was the cake.
She started out slow,
then Dad helped her a little bit,
and then a little more,
and then she was done.
As it turns out, there is such a thing as too much cake.
It was a good day spent with friends and family.
I can't wait to see what the next year will bring!
Love reading your blogs and all your pictures of Ina! She is one cute little girl!
