Good morning. I know I typically do a Thankful Thursday post, but I have missed two weeks in a row. Last week was Thanksgiving and yesterday I lacked so much sleep that I didn't even remember it was Thursday.
I thought I would just write one next week, however last night, when I was standing in a 5+ hour line to give my sympathies to a family who lost someone they love too soon, I knew I needed to remind myself of what I am thankful for today.
-Today, and everyday, I am thankful for my little family.
Due to this week's events, we have been doing a lot of extra family hugs.
-I am thankful for Ina's health. She is better, but still sleeping a lot. I am also thankful that whatever bug she had, hasn't made me sick. Yet. Knocking on wood.
-I am thankful for Dan's mom and stepdad- who have Ina for the next 2 nights! This was a trip that was planned before she was sick, so that I could bang out all of my Christmas crafts in one weekend. They called last night to tell me she was doing wonderful and I haven't heard anything since. I am hoping that no news is good news. On that note, it is so weird to be at home and not have her here. I can do anything I want, making as much noise as I want. Crazy. So far I have slept and wrote my blog.
-I am thankful for my aunt, cousins, mom, and grandma who helped "Bossy Racheal" with Ina's first birthday party. What can I say? It takes a certain form of crazy to make sure the caterpillar balloons were in the exact right position.
-Speaking of Ina's birthday, I admit I was a little frazzled that day. What I really wish I would have done is stopped for a minute or two to think about how many amazing people we have in our lives, who Ina now has in her life.
A few conditional thankfuls:
-I am thankful for the cold (but only when I am inside).
-I am thankful for Christmas decorations (but only when they are already up and only when the lights actually work).
-I am thankful for my phone (but only when it is charged, which isn't much lately).
-I am thankful for eggnog and eggnog overnight oats.(but not eggnog coffee creamer. Ick.)
Yep - I am one lucky lady.
What are you thankful for?
awww what a great pic of you three!
