Yesterday was a good day for The Kendricks.
On Saturday, Dan discovered he had lost his wallet at the Christmas party the night before.
He was running errands that day, so his wallet had a consderable amount of cash in it. Knowing we were out a lot of money probably contributed to my little fit later on that day, and has been a dark cloud over us this week.
Well yesterday, as he was bringing Ina inside, he yelled, "there's my wallet!"
It was stuck on the back of a chair in the living room.
It was a Christmas miracle!
Both of us started screaming and jumping up and down.
You would have thought we won the lottery.
We couldn't stop high-fiving each other the rest of the day and I kept fighting the urge to throw $100 bills in the air.
Other ways yesterday was good:
- I wrapped every single stinkin' present I could find.
It didn't take too long at all, and it feels oh so good to be done. Now I can sit back and enjoy the rest of the season.
- My nephew Jake stopped by for a visit. He has decided he loves me. Does anyone else think he looks an awful lot like Ina? You can't tell from this picture, but he has the exact same color of hair she did at his age.
- Ina and I squeezed in a short little date with Mr. BOB. I can't say enough how lucky I am to have a daughter that loves the jogging stroller. Yesterday she was so excited to be in it she couldn't stop squealing and kicking her legs in excitement. She also has started to point to things (as if to ask what they are) so I (breathlessly) answer her, "tree," or, "dog," or, "car."
- Small group was a success- I am really loving the marriage study we are doing right now and the friendships we have that get stronger and stronger every week.
Christmas is in one week! Yay!
