Good morning!
Today I am copying off the cutest Courtney and her Five Things Friday posts.
Five Christmas cookie recipes you should try:
- The Best Sugar Cookie Recipe
- No-bake peanut butter cookies (I use 1.5 x CRUNCHY PB for that recipe)
- Cranberry white chocolate cookies (my fave)
- Peppermint bark
- Monster cookies - I know this is a Halloween recipe, but just take out the candy corn and change the candy color
Five crockpot recipes to feed a crowd so you can enjoy your holiday company:
- Crockpot breakfast casserole
- Crockpot Asian glazed chicken
- Crockpot chicken and dumplings
- White chicken chili - I make this in the crockpot all the time.
- Lazy pasta sauce
I can vouch for all of those recipes except for #3.
Five last minute gift ideas for a lady like me:
- StitchFix gift card - I love StitchFix. I am getting a box today, so Christmas is coming a few days early!
- BirchBox subscription - the gift lasts for months!
- FitBit Flex - I have wanted an activity tracker for some time now and I have heard lots of good things about this one.
- Manicure, pedicure, or massage gift card or trip (if you are giving to a girlfriend!)
- An indoor herb garden / fish tank like this one. The fish feeds the herbs, the herbs feed the fish - genius!
Five last minute gift ideas for a guy like Dan:
I seriously asked Dan what he would buy if he had $50 to $100 to spend on himself and this is what he said:
- Tommie Copper compression clothing (if you happened to be married to a 28 year old with the bones of an 80 year old)
- A really nice frisbee (he also has liked Nerf guns or remote control helicopters in the past - hours of entertainment)
- A bottle of 12 year Jameson (he did receive this last year and busts it out for special company)
- A pair of Oakley sunglasses (Dan and I have a deal - he doesn't get another pair of Oakley's until he takes me on another vacation. Ha!)
- An electronic roaster oven (I couldn't stop laughing when he told me this)
Five last minute gift ideas for a baby like Ina:
- Toes, Ears, and NoseBook (Ina has the Peek-A-Baby Book and loves it)
- Little People Nativity Scene (We love Ina's!)
- Blocks (hours of entertainment)
- Toy to help walking like this one
- Rocking chair / rocking horse Ina loves to climb up on her horse and chair and rock her little heart out.
(Disclaimer - I made those lists to help you out only. I am fairly confident that anyone who reads this blog and is actually shopping for my family has finished, so please don't think that I made that list to tell people what we want. Also, all of the above links are NOT affiliate links, with the exception of Stitch Fix.)
Five things to read:
- The Day I Stopped Saying, "Hurry Up" <--Totally needed to read that after this week's drama
- House Rules: In these Bodies We Dance <-- I love this so much I want to scream! Literally.
- What She Doesn't Know <-- I guess I am not the only one, huh?
- Have Your Christmas and Eat It Too <-- The perfect way (IMO) to think about eating around the holidays
- A Celebration of a Mom's Love <-- Only read if you have lots of tissues
Five things I want to tell you this morning

- Ina is walking
She learned just in time to walk to all the presents!
Posting is going to be up in the air for the next few days, so I want to wish you and your family a VERY Merry Christmas.
Muah!
YAY! I love this Christmas-y take! It's funny because my BF and Dan (as far as presents go!) seem very similar!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your StitchFix items. I love seeing pics of your pretty face in cute clothes :) And then I get jealous because I want StitchFix, toooo! Maybe next year. :)
YAY for walking!!! She is too cute. How exciting!
So many people are talking about FitBit Flex this year. I love the idea of tracking steps and every-day activity in addition to workouts, because when I was tracking my steps, I found that I basically never get my butt up off my chair. Ha. Even though working from home is nice, the downfalls are that the kitchen and bathroom are only a few steps away.
Have a WONDERFUL weekend and Christmas, pretty lady!
Great ideas. But more importantly... Yay, Ina!
ReplyDeleteRacheal I have been subscribing to Ipsy.com for the last few months. It's like Birchbox but you get full size products and everything I have gotten I love. And it too is only $10 a month.
