Just popping in to tell you that Dan is out of surgery and recovering!
His surgery took quite a bit longer than originally planned because the surgeon was having trouble getting the original pins out of his hip. Waiting in that waiting room for hours without hearing much is something I hope I never have to do again!
When we were finally able to see Dan at 6 PM (his surgery was at 10:30 AM), he couldn't believe he had been in surgery that long.
Because of all the extra tugging, yanking, and drilling they had to to, Dan is on a slower recovery plan and can't put all his weight on his hip for 4 - 6 weeks.
Ina and I spent the night with him the first night, which was quite the experience. Tell ya about that later.
Last night I came home after he fell asleep and I plan to head up there very early this morning.
He is pretty uncomfortable and doesn't miss a pain medication dose, but he isn't moaning or anything so either he is really tough or doing pretty well.
Again - thank you for the prayers, well wishes, and offers to help! Muah!
