A few notes:
- We enjoyed corn, new potatoes, and beets from my grandpa's garden. My grandma is still in the hospital, so I felt like an impostor following her instructions on how she prepares the new potatoes. It was really weird and sad to celebrate a holiday without her, but as soon as the ice cream was finished, my dad rushed a bowl up to her. I will gladly hand the reigns back over next year.
- I never get pictures of everyone, so I am going to start making that a requirement before they leave my house. We had lots of people from both my and Dan's family.
- You will notice there aren't any pictures of fireworks. That is because we didn't have any. Not on purpose, we just didn't. And I will be honest and say I was a little relieved. Fireworks scare me. Instead we played whiffle ball, in the kiddie pool, on the slip n' slide, and talked politics.
- I was in bed by 9. So was Ina. We slept through all the M-80 explosions going off next door.
I hope you have a wonderfully blessed weekend!
Looks like you had a perfect day. Nothing better than relaxing with the family. We live in an area where there are a least 3 different fireworks going off not to mention the neighbors that have them too. My chihuahua hates it so we try to make him as comfortable as possible
