- I started the weekend off right with a 4 mile run with Kim and Ina. Four miles is my jogging stroller distance PR and I was sweating by the end. Maybe next weekend I will go for 5!
- I worked from home on Friday and once I shut my laptop Abby and I put Ina back in the jogging stroller and walked about a mile to a park to test Ina out in the baby swing.
It was hard to tell if she liked it.
Ha.
Side note - there were about 5 teenagers hanging out in the park shelter next to the swing set shooting off fireworks. Constantly. We didn't get to stay very long because I was scared one would hit Ina. Is it even legal to do that? I almost called the police but then thought that I shouldn't start anything. The loud fireworks didn't even phase Ina, which is surprising considering she cries every time Dan cheers too loud for the Royals.
-I cleaned out my closet on Saturday. Goodbye maternity clothes. Hello clothes that don't quiiiittte fit yet.
-After all of our chores were done we visited Grandma June in the hospital.
She is slowly improving and we are pretty sure she gets to come home on Thursday!
-On the way to church on Sunday I experienced my first ride in Dan's new car - a 1979 Lincoln with 42,000 miles on it.
I fought Dan getting this car. Hard. Like tried to sabotage him at every step in saving for it for over 6 months.
(Look how far away the front of the car is!)
However, I have to admit that after one ride I fell in love. I don't know if it was the blue leather interior, the adjustable seat belts, or the smooooottthhh ride, but I have to eat all those previous Lincoln-hating words.
Plus, how could I not smile at my husband who acts like a 16 year old driving for the first time every time he gets behind the wheel?
-After church on Sunday we met Dan's sister, her boyfriend, and his brother (got that?) at Kauffman stadium for the Royals' game.
We lost the game but won a sunburn. Poor Ina was lathered in sunscreen, but I must have missed a little spot on her elbow that turned pink when we got home.
I thought I was being responsible by putting sunscreen on myself twice, but I still came home pink. I had a date with aloe vera last night and today things are looking pretty good.
-As far as food goes, we have been mostly eating leftovers from our Independence Day festivities - I have been enjoying this Greek pasta salad a lot.
I hope you all have a blessed week! <3
