Not Ina's Best Day

Yesterday wasn't Ina's day.  In her defense, she has been in a really good mood for the past 2 weeks, so I suppose she is due.

To start, she woke up for good at 5:30.  Usually after eating a big breakfast she gives a loud sigh of surrender, her eyes rolls back, and within seconds she is breathing heavily again and doesn't wake up until 8.  I am then free to go about  my morning routine - blog, shower, etc.

Yesterday after she stopped eating, her eyes were wide open, staring at me, asking, "What's next, Mom?"

So, we read, and rocked, but she was still awake.

So she helped me fold the mountain of laundry I was drowning in but was still awake.

So, I strapped her in the BOB, thinking if anyone could help, it would be my boyfriend.  Two miles in, I checked and she was still awake, however, once we had completed three, she was finally asleep.

Whew.  I wasn't going to waste this opportunity, so I attepmted to carry her, in the BOB, to her nursery.

I picked the stroller up over the boat hitch (because our garage is so full that there isn't even stroller rolling room to the door.  Have I mentioned how much I love my husband?)

Still asleep, even after knocking over a lamp stand and scraping a sign on the wall.

Then, I carried the stroller up the garage steps - still asleep.

The dogs were howling, mad that I didn't take them with us on our run, so I quickly put them outside, and then recruited Abby - carrying that stroller up the stairs is a two-woman job.

With Abby's help the rest was easy and before I knew it she was in her nursery and I was so excited to be able to take a relaxing shower.

(See, I meant it when I said I was drowning in laundry.)

However, as soon as I turned the water on, I heard a loud, mad, almost painful even, "WAAAHHHHH!!!!"

The rest of the day and evening were kind of the same and putting her to sleep last night was almost impossible.  After about five attempts I gave in and brought her to bed with us.

She woke up often, with painful-sounding cries.  I wonder if she is teething?  I know I have blamed many of her bad moods on that, but maybe I am right this time?

Here's to a better day today!

Have a good day!

  1. Oh boy! Sounds like you had quite a morning. I don't have any children but when I was in graduate school I babysat a little boy everyday (from the time he was 3 months- 13 months) so I can relate a little bit. I did laugh as soon as you turned the shower on she woke up! Of course that would happen.
    Your daughter is adorable! :)

    1. Thanks Karen! I kind of laughed too when she woke up. Ha!

I am sure you can relate. Babysitting one boy for that long, with that much one on one time, you are sure to have a lot of the same experiences. :) What a fun thing to do!
