Good morning and Happy Monday!
I didn't blog over the weekend because Little Miss decided to sleep through the night. I followed suit and caught as many z's as possible.
This weekend was the perfect combination of relaxation / socialization.
Saturday Dan's mom came and hung out with Ina. Ina was in the perfect mood all day.
Of course, company = grill time, so Dan put out an amazing spread. My first corn on the cob of the season!
Saturday night we went to my friend Liz's gender reveal party.
Even though Ina was so excited to have a future girlfriend, she didn't have a good night. Poor girl could not calm down. However, as soon as we got in the car to leave she was perfectly happy again.
I woke up Sunday with a long run on my mind and busted out 6.7 miles while listening to my Stitcher app.
After church we rushed back home to get in some yard work.
Our poor yard is in dire need of some attention. We brought in a trailor of dirt to fill in some spots in the yard. The boys worked on the front yard while I weeded the garden.
Then we added some dirt to the garden too.
Anytime someone puts a wooden handle in my hands I once again realize I wasn't built for manual labor and thank God that I was able to go to college.
As I was working it was so fun to think about what vegetables we would plant this year.
The weather was beautiful, so Ina was able to hang out with us for a bit.
We took a few breaks to swing and go down the slide.
Ina couldn't decide if she liked it.
My cousin Abby is not only the perfect nanny, but also knows what a perfect photo opportunity is and I don't even have to ask her to grab the camera!
After all that work, we were so hungry. Dan whipped up some amazing spinach and feta turkey burgers served on whole wheat everything bagel things with sautéd zucchini, squash, and onions.
After putting Ina to bed, Dan and I sat on the patio, enjoyed the nice view, and read a book. (And noted all the things we still need to do in our yard. We will be done by Fall.)
A perfect way to end a relaxing weekend.
This weekend my friend Kim (the one I have been running with on Saturdays) ran her first half marathon!!! I was so proud of and excited for her! I hope it is the first of many more to come.
