I am happy to report that the exact opposite is true. Since crossing the finish line all I can think about is the next race I will run. Today, I signed up for THREE races, two 5Ks and one half marathon. (All can be found on the new "Races" tab above).
If you live in the Kansas City area you should join me for one! If you don't live in the Kansas City area, come for a visit. I have a BBQ sandwich and a few empty bedrooms calling your name.
Even if you haven't ran a day in your life, you can start the Couch to 5K Program and be 5K ready by the Color Run on June 30th, which looks super fun! I don't know exactly how it works, but the jist is that you wear all white and have a different color of powder thrown at you as you pass each kilometer.
Don't you want me to have a picture of you looking like a sweaty bag of skittles? Hehehe.
Think it over and get back to me.
I went for an outdoor run as the sun came up.
After a few minutes of shaking out the soreness, I found my usual 10 minute / mile pace and ran 4.5 wonderful miles. I love a nice refreshing outdoor morning run.
For dinner I made a meal that had been in the works for a while, but never actually happened. I am so mad I waited so long to eat something so delicious and comforting.
I made SkinnyTaste's baked chicken nuggets (click *here* for the recipe) and broccoli macaroni and cheese (click *here* for the recipe).
The chicken nuggets were amazing, but the mac and cheese was probably the best I have ever had, and that is saying something.
Dessert was a combo of two of my favorites - frozen yogurt and banana chocolate chip baked oatmeal. I also ate another baked oatmeal in there somewhere (3).
The night ended with some visitors and a mad game of Scattergories. My heart went to bed happy.
Thought for the day:
Daily Points (31) + Running Points (10) - Eating Points (40) = 1
Weekly Points (49) - Monday (1) + Tuesday (1) = 49
