I really don't like talking about negative things on my blog. I like this to be a positive place.
So, I have been off the grid the past few days because I just can't seem to not be sick. The past week my ailments have gone from a sore throat, to runny nose / cough to probable food poisoning to fever / chills to mastitis. Once one thing got better something else started. The fever / mastitis landed me in my midwife's office where I left with an antibiotic prescription.
I think I am on the upward swing and feeling pretty good today. I have decided that my New Year's Resolution is to not be sick.
Being sick while becoming a new mom during the holidays can also be entertaining. Here are a few thoughts that went through my head this week (in between pictures of Little Miss):
Twenty-one people in a house that has five bathrooms could be a problem.
You know your life has changed when the shots that are passed around the room at 4 in the morning are glasses of water and Air-borne.
Boogie wipes are the best invention. Ever.
Please Lord, don't let me puke on my daughter's head.
How is it possible to go through a roll of toilet paper that fast?
Can food poisoning be transferred through breast milk?
I really wish I remembered the conversion from degrees Celsius to Fahrenheit that I learned in elementary school.
If you think about a drug's mechanism of action while you are taking it, does that make it work better?
Ina Mae has been great through all of this. She has a little cold in her eyes which don't seem to stop secreting goo, but it doesn't bother her at all. She is eating like a little pig and only cries when she is hungry or needs changed.
Having my family here to help me has also been amazing.
However, the healthy ones are dropping like flies.
My poor grandpa is even in the hospital with pneumonia, but also is doing much better today.
As I am typing I just realized that today is Friday (hello maternity leave), so Happy Friday!
I hope you have a great weekend! <3
