Ina Mae doesn't want to leave the hospital. I tried to tell her that I would be as nice at home as the nurses in the NICU, but she is having a hard time believing me.
Her bilirubin went back up today - meaning her jaundice didn't clear up, so we have to put her under the lights for one more night. Hopefully tomorrow morning it will go down.
I didn't think she even looked yellow, until we took her sunglasses off of her face for a feeding. Look at the difference!
That is quite a tan line.
This delay in departure might be a little of my and Dan's fault. She was supposed to stay under the lights at all times, except for 30 minute feedings every 4 hours. Well, her 30 minute feedings turned into one hour and 30 minute feedings because she takes a while to eat, we needed to burp her, and well, it was so freaking hard to put a cuddling baby down.
So, tonight I am putting her on a timer. I think I am going to let the nurses give her one bottle of my stocked up supply of milk so that we can save time (she drinks from a bottle much faster than from me - which hurt my feelings at first, but now I am over it) and that I can get more than 2 hours of sleep tonight. I tried to do that a few nights ago, but started to miss her and ended up going upstairs to her room anyways.
If all goes according to plan, we should be out of here first thing tomorrow morning!
