The Violets of March

Looking for a good summer read?  If so, I would suggest the book I just finished, The Violets of March.  From Good Reads:

I thought this book was pretty good.  It had enough love story to fill my hopeless romantic requirements and enough mystery to keep the pages turning.  However, the story wasn’t fast enough to be a treadmill-type book.  It was more a read before you fall asleep-type book.  Once I finished it, I decided two things:

  1. I am going to buy a beach house.  I probably won’t be able to afford to until I am 2 days away from death, but it is going to happen. 
  2. I reeeaaally miss wine.  The good news is I am half way through my pregnancy and I I think I can hold strong for another 20 weeks. Good thing I am not an elephant (their pregnancies last TWO years). 


My early morning meeting really put a hitch in my day yesterday – both breakfast and lunch were bought at my cafeteria and there was not a workout in sight.

When I paid the cashier for my breakfast she gave me a weird look and said, “That’s a lot of fruit.”  I guess I am jaded, because I thought it was a pretty normal amount. 


Lunch was a chicken, tomato, avocado, lettuce, and blue cheese wrap on whole wheat.


Dinner – leftover Indian.  The mixture of Dan reheating White Castle and me reheating Indian left our kitchen smelling bad.  I had to vacate the area. 


Thought for the day:


  1. I can totally see missing wine!

    And I don't get it... I think that's a normal amount of fruit, too.

    That wrap and Indian food both look yummy...

  2. A lot of fruit? Looks like about 2 servings to me :) Perfect amount for breakfast.
