Sorry I didn’t write a post yesterday, but that really wasn’t an option.  Neither was running.  I felt lucky to be breathing.

My mom called on Wednesday night to tell me that my sister and brother-in-law had strep throat and that if I had strep throat I should go to the doctor, with my dad in the background yelling, “You really can’t let this kind of stuff go when you are pregnant.”  (This alone is hilarious to me because you should see the lengths I have to go through to get those two to the doctor – I have had to threaten taking away grandchildren.) I reassured my mom that I didn’t have strep throat, probably just some type of viral sinus infection.

Then I woke up yesterday feeling like I drank a pot of boiling water.  I have yet to experience strep throat, and I have to say that I am not a fan.  My mind immediately went back to Saturday afternoon when I took a sip of my sister’s drink and she said, “You might not want to do that, I am starting to feel sick.”

I quickly dismissed that thought, because I have drank after and been around sick people my entire life and am never effected.  I even often brag about my “immune system of steel.”

Well, apparently that was before I was pregnant.  Now I am immunocompromised.  Lesson learned.

I have spent the past few days laying around, reading, and watching my newest Hulu obsession – Downton Abbey

I love British television.  Anybody else a fan?

My food has consisted of anything I can get down my throat without screaming – think lots of Ramen noodles and popsicles.

However, last night Dan did make me some broccoli and cheese for dinner because I was craving a vegetable.

It was delicious.  Especially with a side of azithromycin.  Yum.

I am feeling much better today, but plan to take one more rest day from the treadmill in hopes of kicking its but tomorrow morning.

Thought for the day

  1. Going to have to check out Downtown Abbey. I was a fan of Coupling. Hope you feel better soon! Cheers~

  2. Never watched Downtown Abbey. I'm a Top Gear fan myself.

    1. Dan LOVES Top Gear. It is one of the few shows we can watch together and both enjoy.
