Yesterday I celebrated my freedom to sleep in until 6:30 – always an accomplishment.
I celebrated my freedom to run 30 minutes while just thinking. No TV, no music, no reading. Thinking about the many blessings in my life and how I can use them to their fullest.
I celebrated my freedom to wear white shorts with pale, less than sculpted legs (but only between Memorial and Labor Day).
I celebrated my freedom to (unsuccessfully) look for cows and sing “Old McDonald” as a distraction when they were nowhere to be found .
I celebrated my freedom to eat as many Paula Deen-ified / fresh from the garden foods as my tummy could hold.
I celebrated my freedom to run through sprinklers screaming,
to drive while standing,
to watch, but not set off, one single firework.
To just enjoy the view.
Thank God and all the people who made these freedoms possible.
