It is no secret that Dan and I like to stay busy on the weekends with a mini-trip, family get together, or dinner with friends. Although I love the busy-ness, it usually leads to me waking up on Monday morning cursing my weekend-self for everything I needed to get done but didn’t.
However, this morning, I woke up feeling refreshed, rested, and ready to go from my low-key weekend. The only time I left the house was for the Color Run and my date night with Dan on Saturday. I feel completely caught up. (Now I am crossing my fingers hoping my life doesn’t fall into shambles.)
Sunday went like this:
Breakfast with Dan at the kitchen table – a huge rarity. Dan usually sleeps in and I am eating lunch by the time he eats breakfast.
After breakfast I caught up with work and blog stuff while Dan went to the swap n’ shop to find some more treasures. Dan came home and made us chicken and noodle soup for lunch which I enjoyed while watching the Royals game.
Plus some roasted beets from my grandpa’s garden – which totally puts my garden to shame.
I spent the rest of the afternoon organizing my closet. As most of my winter clothes aren’t going to fit me, and many of my summer clothes don’t fit me now, I packed them away. My closet went from this:
Looks like I have plenty of room for maternity clothes and then some.
It would have been the perfect afternoon for napping, if I had that ability. Obviously, the rest of my household doesn’t have a problem with it.
Dinner was courtesy of Joe + an egg + sriracha. I could barely keep it down while laughing hysterically at 21 Jump Street.
Dessert was the highlight of the night – zucchini brownies.
