Yesterday I was so lucky to get the chance to meet my Weight Watchers leader Joan and my cousin Amanda for lunch at Ingredient. I have truly missed Joan as my WW membership is on hold while I am baking this baby.
Seeing her encouraging smile and chatting with her gave me just the re-charge I needed! If you live in the Kansas City area and are looking for a good leader, you should see Joan. She is hands down the best in the business. (I know from A LOT of experience with not-so-great leaders). I was so involved in the conversation that I completely forgot to take a pic of my lunch dates. Darn. I did, however, snap a picture of my lunch – a Vietnamese chicken wrap. Yum.
Joan and Amanda also brought me an amazing present.
A card signed by all the members of my old meeting. How freakin’ awesome is that!?! Reading all the names and lovely comments made my heart smile. Thank you so much to all of you 7 am-ers! You made my week!
I think this alone is proof of how Weight Watchers is a uniquely wonderful program and going to meetings makes all the difference in the world. You are able to share the experience with others who have the same struggles and are trying to accomplish the same goals. And you get the added side benefit of making new friends. I literally cannot wait to go back!
I fell even more in love with my rice cooker yesterday when I cooked steel cut oatmeal in it.
I simply put in the oatmeal and water and pressed “cook” before I hopped on the treadmill. Then, when I was done breakfast was waiting for me.
I added peanut butter and banana. Super tasty and filling.
I snacked on some cherries throughout the work day.
When I got home I had a really bad headache (looking back I probably didn’t drink enough water). So, I had a bowl of cereal and went to sleep. Dan got home around 9 with Taco Bell and I may have eaten a chili cheese burrito in bed. Shame.
I busted out a 5K while watching The Bachelorette. Secret: I have been reading spoilers over at Reality Steve. I don’t know why – I want to be surprised, but I just can’t help myself. I really hope he is wrong about the ending, but it doesn’t seem like that happens very much.
Thought for the day:
