I want to apologize for not posting yesterday, but frankly I would like to pretend like the day before yesterday didn’t happen. I am not ready to talk about it exactly, but I will say that I stupidly pushed myself past a limit that I didn’t know I had.
Don’t worry – everything is fine – now. However, I was in a world of hurt for the majority of Wednesday evening. I learned my lesson. I am human. When my body is telling me something I just can’t ignore it. Period.
I have always thought there is a fine line between my body wanting to stop running because I am uncomfortable / lazy / etc. and my body wanting to stop because I need to. How can you tell the difference? Any advice?
OK, now that all that serious stuff is out of the way, we can move on to yesterday – a wonderful day of relaxation. Due to the events of the day before I decided to take a rest day from running and work from home, which always means a little better meals.
Breakfast was extremely filling, but my stomach was pretty empty from the night before.
Lunch reminded me of summer. These tomatoes were from my Door to Door Organics box and were pretty decent. However, I always look forward to my first bite of a fresh tomato out of the garden.
I made some roasted cauliflower for a snack while I watched Dan and his friends play HORSE.
It was hilarious to see all of the unique shots they came up with. Dan never played basketball in school, but he still has a pretty good shot. Probably better than mine, and I played for years. Typical.
Dinner was courtesy of the grill and Kraft. Dan was craving some mac and cheese and I couldn’t resist a spoonful.
(I had a little accident with the ketchup bottle.)
Here’s to a good, healthy, and smart run today!
Thought for the day:
Points Breakdown:
Daily Points (30) – Eating Points (33) = -3
A few months back when it hurt to walk the morning after the run days in a row I decided to take a week off. Do you foam roll? I haven't tried it but it sounds like a good idea.
