Due to my unfortunate incident in Vegas, I was in the market for a new license. As I will be traveling soon, I slowly gave up the hope that a nice soul would mail me back my ID and headed to the DMV to get a replacement.
The woman who worked there quickly told me that mine was due to expire in a few months anyways, so I needed to get an entirely new ID – picture and all.
I remember the day I picked up my old license. It was six years ago. I was in pharmacy school and not even engaged yet. I looked at the expiration date that read 9-13-2012 and pictured what my life would be like then. Back then, all I could really focus on was getting done with school. I had no idea of the wonderful life that would be waiting for me afterwards. Some aspects I knew would happen – like I would marry Dan. (I knew that the day he sat at my lunch table my senior year of high school.) But, if you would have told me that I was going to move to a different state for a year to get more training after I graduated, I would have laughed in your face.
My new ID expires in 2018 – that seems like a really long time from now. Again, there are a few things I know for sure about my future, but I am really excited to see what surprises the next six years has in store.
Run
Yesterday I ran a nice and slow windy and humid 5 miles.
Food
For breakfast I was craving chocolate oatmeal and ended up with a breakfast cookiesh glop. Although it doesn’t look that great, it hit the spot.
We met my family at Corner CafĂ© for brunch (my lunch) to celebrate Jessie’s birthday.
We had a full table. As always, I enjoyed spending time with my favorite kids.
After brunch Dan and I hurried off to Kauffman stadium to watch another game.
I had really good intentions of getting things marked off my to-do list when I got home, but the only thing that was happening was dinner and frozen yogurt in front of a movie.
A good day.
