Rainy Road Trip

Yesterday would have been the perfect Sunday afternoon to cuddle up on the couch with a cup of tea and a book.

But, Dan and I had plans to visit his grandfather.  We ordered Snead's BBQ to go and I whipped up a copy of the peanut butter pie the Amanda brought for dinner on Friday (click *here* for the recipe).

We loaded up the dogs and away we went.

Remember when our car was stolen? Even though it was returned, it was worse for the wear and without a radio.

No worries, Dan and I entertained ourselves with our own songs.  Because we don't listen to the same type of music, the only songs we both know the words to are Garth Brooks or Disney.  You better believe that our versions of Pappa Loved Mama  and A Whole New World were awesome.  Hehehe.

It was nice to spend some time with Dan's family.

It was also nice to eat some peanut butter pie.

I think this is going to be my new go-to dessert because you can always keep the ingredients on hand and make it in about 5 minutes.  Wonderful.

Our day started out an hour earlier at church.  Because of the hour time change I completely forgot to eat breakfast.  Believe me, that does not happen often.

After church we enjoyed lunch at Applebee's with our friends Ryan and Hannah and their adorable children.  I ordered the sizzling chili lime chicken with extra broccoli off the "Under 550 calories" menu.

Somewhere in there I also ate some roasted butternut squash.

The perfect recharge for a busy week ahead!

Thought for the day:

  2. You should try it! Super easy! And...also low in points if you don't eat 1/4 of it in one sitting! :)
