VDay Mix Up

Dan and I decided to make Valentine's dinner at home rather than going out to eat this year.  But, apparently there was some type of communication-lapse, because we both went grocery shopping after work and came home with bags full of food.

I happily conceded to cook the meal that Dan planned because it included beautiful steaks and huge sweet potatoes.

He also brought wine.  Wine always wins.

We snacked on hummus, pretzels, and cheese while the sweet potatoes were microwaving and the green beans (the one thing that made it from my meal) were roasting.

I also gave Dan his homemade card.

If you can't read it, the front says "Dan, I love you..." and the inside says "This Much."  Hehehe.  I love Pinterest.

The meal was done in 20 minutes.  I bet we would have waited longer to get our table at a restaurant.

I only ate half the steak and half the sweet potato.

It was a wonderful family night with Dan and the pups.   After dinner we sat on the couch, talked, listened to the radio, and gave each other Valentine's foot rubs.

Other Eats
Another WIAW from Peas and Crayons.

For breakfast I tried my new "coffee grinder" seasoning from Trader Joe's on my toast.  The nutrition information says that 1/4 teaspoon is 0 calories.  I dare someone to only eat 1/4 teaspoon of that stuff.  I wonder if it would still be 0 calories if I opened the container and ate the whole thing?  I mean 200 x 0 is still 0.  The numbers don't lie.

Lunch was leftover meatloaf from the night before.

I also snacked on a handful of nuts before Dan got home from work (3).

Run
I Smash-ed through 5 miles while jamming to the new episode of Smash.  :)

Thought for the day:

Daily Points (31) + Running Points (10) - Eating Points (51) = -10
Weekly Points (49) - Mon (5) - Tues (10) = 34

  2. That TJ grinder sounds fantastic. I moved a couple months ago and am not as close to a TJ anymore. Thinking about still making a monthly TJ trip though. Stopping by from WIAW!
