A Kennel Free Day

Since Dan and I are currently down a vehicle, I worked from home yesterday.

Aumlette and Lily were psyched to have a kennel free day.

Lily gave me thank-you-kisses

Don't let the playing fool you--the majority of the day looked like this:

As usual, WFH meant I didn't run until after work, but it was well worth the wait.  The weather was glorious and the sun charged me through an easy, breezy 5 miles.

I felt like my fridge and pantry were calling out to my growling stomach all day, hence many snacks.  Breakfast was by far the best due to my most recent sale purchase: blueberry Noosa.

Have you tried this stuff?  It is Australian yogurt, but to me it taste more like cream cheese.  I don't know if I will ever be able to eat fat free yogurt again, but I must because this stuff in costly in dollars and calories.  To budget it out, I only used half in my parfait, and saved half for later.

Breakfast: Australian yogurt (4), bran flakes (3) and banana

Snack: LC cheese and apple wrap x 2 (6)

Lunch: rice (5), chicken (3), and salsa with a side of green pepper
Snack: grapefruit (nada)
popcorn (7)

Bowl of cereal x 2 (18)

Thought for the day:

DP (31) + RP (11) - EP (46) = -4  I should be surprised, my intake consistented mostly of carbs.

  1. Your dogs look so sweet. :) I like that your salsa is chunky and not runny. Do you make it yourself or do you buy it at the store?

    1. During the winter I buy fresh pico de gallo at the store. It is a little pricey, but so worth it! It adds a "free" flavor boost to everything. During the summer we buy fresh tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, and cilantro and make our own.

  2. Just found your blog, LOVING it! You are awesome and so inspiring, I am getting back into running again after a loooooooong absence and your posts are super motivating!

I alos love your eats! What kind of rice do you make? I hate brown (I know, I know) and was curious what kind you fix.

    Thanks Racheal!!

    1. Aw, that is so sweet! Good for you--getting back to running is difficult. Keep up the good work! :)

I am in the same boat as you as far as brown rice is concerned. For the most part, I stick with white rice-either basamati or jasmine. Once in a while I buy some wild rice. When I eat Asian food, I just throw some rice in the rice cooker and eat it plain or add Sriracha and soy sauce. When I am eating Mexican food, I usually make SkinnyTaste Cilantro lime rice: http://www.runningwithracheal.com/2012/02/whats-your-workout-jam-itunes-gift-card.html

I think eventually I will try to go half and half brown / white rice. :)
