Going Green

There are many things I could give up for Lent.

Dessert. Been there, done that my freshman year of college.  It wasn't pretty.

Alcohol.  I thought about this, and then realized that St. Patrick's Day and my next trip to Vegas were between now and Easter.

Facebook.  Shamefully not possible.

Caffeine.  Not gonna happen. There are a few things I have to get done in the next 40 days.

After a lot of thought, I decidided that instead of giving something up for Lent, I could add something for Lent.  Something green, in fact.  For the next 40 days my breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be verde-ier.

I am pretty pumped.  Bring on the spinach, kale, cucumbers, and green beer.

Food
For breakfast I added Better'n Peanut Butter and banana to steel cut oats.


Lunch was a little desperate.  You know I need to go grocery shopping when I have hard boiled eggs and canned fruit for lunch.






For dinner, I followed *this recipe* for oven fried chicken.  The bran flakes made the chicken weirdly sweet, but it tasted fine if doused in hot sauce.  Roasted green beans and mashed potatoes made the perfect comfort food to drown my MU-basketball-jones in.


Dessert was delicious.  I microwaved a TBS each of Better'n Peanut Butter and chocolate chips for 30 seconds and then poured it over a cup of froyo.


Run
Castle entertained me through 4.3 miles.
