The Perfect Storm

You know how every once in a while you have one of those "perfect storm" weekends that make you so happy, where everything puts a smile on your face, and you feel so lucky / blessed  / thrilled to have the life that you do and to experience it?  (I have a very similar but shorter feeling everyday the first 15 minutes after I drink my morning coffee.)

This weekend was one of those for me, and I loved every single second.  It started out with dinner with my family on Friday night, then Saturday we drove up to Weston, MO for wine tasting and to stay at the Luarel Brook Farms Bed and Breakfast (which was absolutely beautiful).

Yesterday, I woke up early and then fell back asleep and slept through breakfast!  Good thing they held some back for me, because it was yummy.

After we checked out of the B and B we headed to downtown Weston for some antique shopping.  Unfortunately, it was Sunday, and the shops opened late, so we walked around town looking at houses and local attractions.  It was such a beautiful day!

We ate lunch at an adorable little place called PastTimes Bar and Grill, where the woman who fried the chicken greeted us at the door.

Dan's Fried Chicken

Although I didn't get the fried chicken, Dan did, and it looked wonderful.

My lunch: Grilled Chicken salad. with about 1/4 that cheese and ranch dressing (10)

Ashley's plate after chicken fried steak.  I was a tad bit jealous. :)

After the shops opened, Dan, Ashley, Brady, and I did our part at stimulating Weston's economy and left with a car full of stuff we just couldn't live without.

This was my first experience antique shopping and I am now addicted.

When we got home Dan and I curled up on the couch, ate dinner, watched some football, and listened to the storm come in.

My attempt at homemade frozen yogurt.  It was pretty much a fail.  when I perfect it I will tell you my recipe.  (7)

We even had hail!

You see, it was a perfect weekend.  Except, I didn't run at all.  Oops.  I am getting my but back in gear today.

Thought for the day (I took this picture at one of the shops):
