Pack It Up, Pack It In...

...let me begin, I came to win, battle me, that's a sin.

Why is it that every time I have to pack for a trip I can't get that darn song out of my head?

This weekend my family (minus Dan :( ) is heading to Vail, Colorado!!!
(I am pretty sure I will look like this after being there for a few days...hahaha)
I am super pumped!  Not only to spend some concentrated time with the family (they won't be able to get far), but also to be surrounded by beautiful snow covered mountains and to learn to ski!  The last time I skied fell down a mountain I was in 7th grade.  I am hoping that since then I have developed some mad skiing skills sub-consciously in preparation for this week.

But first, I need to pack.  As always, I made a list:

I find that if I "mentally pack" early, "physically packing" is easy breezy.

This is what the weather in Vail will be over the next week.

I am kind of bummed it only *might* snow for one day, but here's hoping.

I have to finish packing tonight because tomorrow is my part time job's Christmas party and my flight leaves early Saturday morning.

This morning, to prepare my body for extreme cold exposure, I skipped out on the sprints and instead ran 3.5ish miles outside in SHORTS.  I extremely overestimated how nice it was outside and my legs were numb and wind burnt by the time I was finished.  They are still hot to the touch.  Ah well, I will consider it part of the "training experience."

Tomorrow is an 8 mile run!!!

Thought for the day:

If that doesn't get my hiney on the treadmill tomorrow, I don't know what will.
